4th Grade Mealworm Invasion!!!!
Today Mealworms invaded our 4th grade science classes!!!! Our students did an incredible job observing these invaders and shared their stories as well as new discoveries about their structure, color, and movement. Many students were able to count the segments of the mealworms and all were able to distinguish the difference between it's head and tail. It was VERY exciting!!! Next week we look forward to being able to handle the mealworms as we further our investigations about Animal Behavior with experiments designed to find out more about our invading friends. An excellent job was done by all. Have a great weekend!

Some people rhink meal worms are disgusting and gross and they might turn into beetles, but that also means that you can be disgusted from meal worms or beetles.
Almost every girl in the whole entire school think that mealworms are gross and disgusting. I think they are very, very cool and cute! I hope at least some people in the grades think that mealworms are very cool!
Mealworms are pretty Funky but I'd eat one.
This week we will be working closely with the mealworms. At the end of the week hopefully everyone will have an appreciation of these great little organisms. I am also hoping that after getting to experiment with the mealworms that people will be less afraid of bugs!!!

I definitely agree with all of you, mealworms are AWESOME! However I cannot comment on the content of the burgers at favored eating establishments. Good theory though!

I think mealworms are funky too but I'm not eating one! The segments of the mealworms are pretty cool. I
loved watching them race. We named ours: Diego, Dora, Boots and backpack. I bet those names ring a familiar bell!
I hope you are all excited about the chance to do more experiments tomorrow. You have all done very well on your observations and now we get to extend those by changing some "variables". Stay tuned tomorrow to find out what "variables" are.
